A quick word on privacy

Though the regulations are changing rapidly, we’re still in the early stages of internet security and privacy. When you’re browsing the internet, there’s a huge amount of services tracing everything you do. Some of those services simply collect and sell your personal information, but others are necessary to make things function properly.

There are some things we have to do in order to make Fairify work. It would be impossible to recommend local alternatives without knowing your location. Local alternatives decrease transportation emissions and because it’s our mission to reduce the impact of products as much as possible, it’s necessary to collect the information about your location that is linked to your IP address.

We also use affiliate marketing. Because we earn a small commission for the things you buy through Fairify, we, our partner brands and affiliate services, need to know whether you have bought anything. That’s where cookies come in. The brands we recommend contain affiliate links and when you click on one of these, the affiliate services we partner with store a cookie in your browser. These cookies are linked to your IP address and will be deleted in 30 to 90 days. We realize that it’s not the perfect solution, and we will look for ways to improve this. But for now, this business model pays for the research and the development of Fairify.

Lastly, we use Google Analytics to gain insight into how you use our services. This allows us to improve our website and extension efficiently. Please note that your browser behavior will not be tracked and that the data we collect will always be anonymized. If you feel this violates your privacy or just want to use Fairify without any of the above, we recommend using a VPN connection. If you don’t want cookies, you can simply clean out your browser cache from time to time.

We have done our best to make the Privacy Policy below as accessible and readable as possible, but we fully understand that not everyone reads these things. In fact, we applaud you for making it all the way here already. Just remember that we firmly believe that you have the right to be able to browse the internet anonymously and safely. We will never collect any personal information and do our best to keep your browsing history as anonymous as we can. And, of course, we will never sell your personal information to third parties.

If you have any questions about our privacy, feel free to contact us at hello@fairify.io
